FullSizeRender (2).jpg

Description: Can you recognize the signs of coronary occlusion? This workshop explores the subtle signs of an MI on an ECG. Using Case-based presentations and actual ECG's the audience will be both challenged and informed on the can't miss signs of occlusion. Most STEMI guidelines are measured in millimeters of ST-Segment Elevation. Unfortunately, myocardial occlusion does not follow the guidelines. Many suspected ACS events are classified as NSTEMI or non-specific when in fact these patients need acute coronary interventions. Estimated length of course: 3-4 hours

  • The rule of proportionality will be discussed in the identification of subtle MI.

  • The subtle findings of inferior wall MI will be discussed and identified.

  • STEMI in the presence of LBBB will be discussed and the latest AHA/ACC guidelines in the patient with new onset LBBB.

  • Morphology of the ST-segment and T waves will be discussed and how the provider can use this to identify subtle STEMI.

  • The learner will take an ECG self assessment to identify knowledge gaps and strengthen their ECG interpretation skills.
